Tech, home lab, security, FOSS... and tea. I can't hack it without tea (only the good stuff!)

TenshiNet is the name of my home lab. It’s based off of an alias which, in turn, is based off of an older alias (Seraph) I used to use in games like flight simulators. I started using Tenshi as an alias instead because I’ve developed interest in Japanese culture in recent years; there wasn’t a direct translation of Seraph to Japanese, so Tenshi was the closest I could come.

I decided to use my home lab’s name for my GitHub, my blog and my TryHackMe account in an attempt to essentially treat them as an extension of my home lab. I don’t view them as separate, functionally speaking.

About me

I’m Jacob, a lifelong writer turned IT professional. Following several attempted careers, in 2023, I embarked on a journey of education in IT with the goal of entering the Information Security industry, indulging upon long-term curiosity toward computers and digital technology. I aim to leverage my talents and my passion for technology in order to find a lifetime career. I am obsessed with learning new things; I’m the sort who will geek out over the cultivation of tea, the history of the blue LED, minute differences between Linux distros and the quirks of DOS viruses. I started this blog to discuss and document my progress in learning IT/security topics, and to showcase any projects or discuss opinions.
